That’s how long Hirohiko Araki’s long-running, family legacy, action adventure manga graced the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump and Ultra Jump. With the newest part, JOJOLANDS, coming out soon, there is no better time than now to refresh the JoJos we have followed and rooted for over the years.

Phantom Blood: Jonathan Joestar

The OG JoJo, Jonathan Joestar, is a good lad. In fact, he is the best lad on this entire list. He is completely unproblematic and a ray of sunlight (yellow). Not only do we follow Jonathan’s story in Phantom Blood, but his descendants are the protagonists of their own respective arcs. Jonathan was a nobleman during the Victorian era, and he was living a pretty good life until his father brought home one Dio Brando to be his step-brother. His life turned upside down, and through a series of mishaps and misadventures, Jonathan learns the Ripple, marries his childhood love, and then… Well, you’ll just have to watch Phantom Blood to see.

Battle Tendency: Joseph Joestar

In a complete 180 from Jonathan, Joseph is one bad JoJo. Not in the sense that he is a bad character. But if Jonathan saw him, Joseph would be on his way to a smacked bottom. Joseph is loud and boisterous, but surprisingly smart underneath his clownish demeanor. His fights were the start of the more typical brain over brawn battles that have become rather characteristic of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Like Jonathan, Joseph used the Ripple, but he was far more creative with it thanks to his own wits, Lisa Lisa’s training, and Caesar’s rivalry.

Top 10 Stands in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

Stone Ocean may be the most divisive and strange part within Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. It’s always been somewhat of a black sheep for the sharp difference in tone and writing from Golden Wind, the complexity of the story, and the battles being far more experimental. In any iteration of its release, it’s had its detractors and hardcore fans.

It’s only fitting that a part as strange as it has some of the most experimental Stands in the series — for better or worse. Some Stands end up confusing or hard to understand, resulting in underwhelming fights, whereas others end up as some of the best in the series and insanely memorable. So, rather than focus on the bad, let’s going to look at the best Stands in Stone Ocean!

Part of what makes Stands work so well for fights is their limits; Stands are small and confined in what they can do, and those limitations make fights interesting. Bohemian Rhapsody shows the opposite side, however, and the pros and cons there. Bohemian Rhapsody is a Stand that affects the whole world, making fictional characters come to life and forcing people to reenact stories they enjoy, even if it leads to their death.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a spectacle of a Stand, being incredibly memorable for just how wild the arc is with the references and how entertaining it is. But, in terms of being an actual fight, the wide range of what the Stand is leaves it feeling unfocused and barely like an actual fight, just being something that happens, albeit an entertaining something.

As weird as your life may feel, it’s nothing compared to the chaos of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. That’s always been the case, but it’s especially true now that a new chapter of the Stone Ocean saga is about to drop.

An adaptation of the manga of the same name from Hirohiko Araki, the anime focuses on the wild adventures of the Joestar family across generations. This series has covered everything from the 19th century to modern times. And this time around, we’re going back to 2011 to break out of a Florida prison. Consider this your guide to when you can expect new episodes of this cult hit.

Stone Ocean Star is Ready for the Anime’s Return

Ai Fairouz and Kira Buckland are the two current voices of Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, with both having a similar story in that they’re respective dreams were to voice the daughter of Stardust Crusader Jotaro Kujo. Now, with only a few hours to go before theanime adaptation returns to Netflix, the Japanese voice actor responsible for bringing Jolyne to life is hyping up fans for the new episodes which will continue the perilous journey through Green Dolphin Street Penitentiary.  

Jolyne Cujoh is a very different Joestar than what we’ve come to know in the previous parts of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, having no love lost for her father but forced to try to save him from a devious plot put into motion from beyond the grave by Dio Brando.  Gaining a Stand of her own in Stone Free, Cujoh can hurl out machine gun-like blows thanks to her Stand while also having the ability to transform into a series of strings depending on the situation. With these new episodes, expect some of the wildest moments of the anime franchise to date as Pucci’s plans are revealed.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Kills Major Stone Ocean Character

Stone Ocean’s latest batch of episodes have arrived on Netflix, with the latest JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure the wildest entry to date as Jolyne Cujoh attempts to clear her name while fighting in Stand battles. Unfortunately, not everyone is making it out alive during the events of this latest season. As Jolyne works to save her father’s life, the battle against Pucci and White Snake has taken a horrific turn within Green Dolphin Street Prison.

Warning. If you have yet to binge through the latest episodes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Episodes Thirteen through Twenty-Four, you may want to steer clear as we’ll be diving into serious spoiler territory.

Each member of the Jolyne Cujoh crew had a unique role to play in the fight against Pucci, the prison’s priest who was a dear friend of villain Dio Brando. It seems however that Foo Fighters, aka F.F., drew the short straw as the Stand composed entirely of plankton, who resided within the body of a dead prisoner, wasn’t able to survive her encounter with White Snake. F.F. was able to reveal the identity of White Snake’s owner, but her body was beyond repair as the Stand disguised itself as Weather Report to get close enough for the killing blow.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans are taking the opportunity to mourn the loss of Foo Fighters, with the army of Plankton having one last chance to say goodbye to Jolyne in a beautiful fashion that somewhat mimicked the death of Bruno Bucciarati toward the end of Golden Wind. Stone Ocean Receives Adorable Homage from Fate/Grand Order Artist

This September, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will return to Netflix with new episodes of the Stone Ocean and Jolyne is set to be in quite the predicament. Before Jolyne Cujoh’s big comeback to the small screen, an animator for Fate/Grand Order’s anime took the opportunity to give us a new take on the daughter of Jotaro as she continues to try to escape from a maximum-security prison that is fit to bursting with Stand Users under the sway of Pucci the villainous priest.          

When last we left Jolyne, she was in dire straits, attempting to not only clear her name and fight against the nefarious machinations of Pucci, but also save the life of her father who has had his memories and Stand stolen from him. With allies such as Foo Fighters and Ermes backing her up, expect the upcoming installments of the anime series on Netflix to throw some wild Stand battles her way. In the latest anime season, Jolyne was voiced by actor Ai Fairouz, who also will play a prominent role in the upcoming anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man as the devil, Power. 2022 is an amazing year for the voice actor to be sure.

Stone Ocean Actor Celebrates Chainsaw Man Role

Anime franchises might not crossover too often, though there is plenty of overlap when it comes to voice actors. With the first season of Chainsaw Man announcing its cast, it seems that a star player from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will be bringing a fan-favorite devil to life. Being a big anime fan herself, the voice of Power arrived with the perfect aesthetic to the event that delivered fans a new trailer from Studio MAPPA.       

Ai Fairouz’s story within the medium of anime has been a heartwarming one, specifically thanks to the fact that her initial entry into the field was to become Jolyne from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. Bringing to life the daughter of Jotaro Kujo over the first thirteen episodes of the series that are available on Netflix, Fairouz isn’t done bringing new anime characters to life and participated in the recent announcement of the voice cast for Chainsaw Man’s first season. Taking the opportunity to celebrate the occasion, the voice of Jolyne arrived to the event in style, wearing attire that definitely fits with the beloved character of the bloody series in Power.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Cosplay Dives Into Stone Ocean With Ermes

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is set to bring back the Stone Ocean on Netflix this September, with the previous finale seeing Jolyne Cujoh still trying to save the life of her father, Jotaro Kujo, while also trying to clear her name of a crime she didn’t commit. While journeying through Green Dolphin Street Penitentiary, Jolyne made a number of allies, with one of the biggest being Ermes Costello. Now, prior to the return of the Stone Ocean, one cosplayer has brought one of Jolyne’s strongest friends to life with a pitch-perfect take on the supporting character.

Ermes Costello’s Stand is known as Kiss, an ethereal being with some wild powers, even when it comes to what we’ve seen in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to date. When Ermes wants, she can slap a stamp onto a target, splitting it into two and creating a duplicate in the process. When the stamp is eventually removed, the two objects, or opponents, will merge back into one but create an explosion in the process that can be quite deadly. On top of this power, Kiss can also deal some machine-gun-like blows to opponents in some of the biggest Stand battles of the franchise created by Hirohiko Araki.
