VACATION

What to Pack for A Fashionable Winter Vacation

If you ask me, there’s no better way to cheer yourself up from the dark and cold days of winter than to plan your next vacation, even if it’s only in spirit. Is it a beach getaway that you’re pining for filled with days basking in the sun and breezy nights and oceanside dinners complete with wine or a delicious cocktail? Or are you after a snowy escape where you can hit the slopes and hunker down by a fire, sip hot chocolate and tuck into a hearty meal?

Whatever you pick, you’re going to want to look stylish every step of the way. I have my loves when it comes to what to pack musts. I share some of my finds below. Here’s inspiration to get planning, packing and transporting yourself away.

Aviator Nation White Apres Bolt Jacket, $875

Aviator Nation is a California brand that has a cult following for its impossibly comfortable and soft sweatpants and hoodies. The outwear is just as covet-able and cool. I’m a big fan of this puffer— especially in white. It’s chic and matches with practically everything. Wear it while you’re shopping or out and about all day or going to dinner at a trendy restaurant at night.

Saylor Dresses, Price Ranges, but most pieces are under $400

Saylor is a fashion label that prides itself on its sustainability efforts. Many of the eye-catching pieces are made of recycled fabrics. Further, the company partners with EcoCart, allowing the brand to offset carbon emissions from every order, and actively considers all aspects of the manufacturing process in an effort to become fully circular and zero waste — all hang tags, labels, and packaging are made of 100% biodegradable, compostable, and/or recycled materials. I personally cannot live without Saylor’s summer dresses. They look stylish and are easy to care for and wear. I don mine on trips all over the world from the Amalfi Coast to Miami and get compliments on them right and left.

Catherine Gee Daria French Cuff Silk Blouse in Bali Print, $334

Simply put, the Santa Barbara based designer Catherine Gee makes the best blouses ever. A tall order, yes, but there’s no two ways about it. They’re tailored to a T, look incredibly glamorous and in vogue and are ideal to wear on any trip, from a city break to a resort stay. This silk blouse is splashed with a pop-over beach design and evokes Bali. Don’t miss the attractive purple hue and dramatic cuffs.

Dagne Dover Hunter Toiletry Bag, $45 for the small, $65 for the large

The New York sustainable bag brand Dagne Dover has a toiletry bag called the Hunter that beats any other out there. I love it, and my husband and kids do too. It comes in a small and large size and is made with a water resistant lightweight material that’s washable. The Hunter has a removable zippered compartment and inner side pouch- it holds all your toiletries and then some. Plus, it’s great looking too. I confess that I travel with four of the large ones at once!

Curel Japanese Skin Care Foaming Daily Face Wash, $15.89

Curel’s foaming cleanser works for literally every skin type and is gender neutral at the same time. It has no scent and gets rid of all the dirt, oil and grime from being out all day, whether you’re at the beach or on the slopes. I never leave home without it and love that it’s affordable too.

Christian Dior La Collection Privee, $235

Christian Dior’s discovery set is a collection of ten TSA-friendly fragrances from the brand’s exclusive Privee line. I stash bottles in my purses, carry-ons and pockets on every trip and always smell divine and feel pulled together. The parade of attractive scents includes Ambre Nuit, Spice Blend, which lasts and lasts, and the heady Vanilla Diorama.
