Luxury Hotel AYANA Segara Bali Opens

November 5, 2022 marked the opening of the brand new AYANA Segara Bali hotel, within the cliffside AYANA Estate overlooking Jimbaran Bay in Bali, Indonesia.

AYANA Estate

The new 205-key hotel is part of AYANA Estate, the 222-acre resort above Jimbaran Bay that has 22 restaurants, 15 swimming pools, Bali’s most comprehensive spa, an 18-hole putting course, a secluded beach, and some of the best sunsets in Bali.

In addition to a residential community, the estate has three other hotels—294-room AYANA Resort Bali, 403-room family resort RIMBA by AYANA Bali, and the 78-key AYANA Villas Bali, with each villa having either one or two bedrooms as well as a private pool.

AYANA spa is a Bali destination spa within the estate. It has unique experiences, including treatments designed by Japanese anti-aging expert Tadashi Nakatsuji, a skin polishing treatment once used as by royal Javanese brides, as well as treatments in two spa villas on large rocks within the Indian Ocean. A variety of wellness packages are available, such as the very tempting De-Stress Wellness Program that features several types of yoga and meditation and a daily spa treatment.

Famous Rock Bar Bali, dramatically perched 45 feet above crashing waves, is on the Estate too—it features spectacular sunsets, live music and tunes from a DJ in a booth carved directly into the cliff, as well as a ride on an small funicular.

AYANA Segara Bali

The new AYANA Segari Bali hotel’s design is by WATG and evokes both contemporary and traditional Balinese culture. It has an indoor-outdoor concept, taking advantage of the panoramic views over Jimbaran Bay and the forest within the AYANA

A Hollywood producer transformed an Italian duchess’s tropical home on the Riviera Maya into Hotel Esencia, one of Mexico’s most exclusive beach boltholes. Its VVIP clientele can now hide away even more discreetly in this villa, the Esencia Mansion. Location: A jungly corner of the 50-acre estate only a five-minute walk from the white sands of Xpu-Ha beach, the spa, and the gourmet tacos served at Mistura. Layout: 12,000 square feet on four levels, with four suites (each with a terrace with a hammock), a fitness studio, a rooftop terrace with ocean views, and three pools. Wow Factor: A secret entrance leads to an underground speakeasy-style bar, fully stocked and outfitted with a DJ booth, which is staffed on request.

A former family ranch, Aspen Valley Ranch, opened in May 2021 as a gated community with high-end homesteads (for sale or rental of a month or more) and resort-level amenities and service (some of the team come from Aspen’s lauded Little Nell, and the concierge is from Les Clefs d’Or). Location: Ten minutes from downtown Aspen. But why leave when you and yours can Nordic ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile in your private 813-acre playground? Layout: Five bedrooms and bathrooms (tubs have mountain views) spread over 5,709 square feet, with a central courtyard, greenhouse, and wine cellar curated to your taste.
