Where to go and how to avoid traffic delays
The Indianapolis Veterans Day Parade will begin Friday at noon.
The annual parade, hosted by the Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis, will start at the intersection of Michigan and Pennsylvania streets. Marchers will take the route around the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza and the Legion Mall.
Ahead of the parade, a Veterans Day Service will be at the War Memorial featuring patriotic music by the 38th Division Band of the Indiana National Guard, speakers and a flyover performed by the Indiana Air National Guard.
“The Veterans Day Council’s charge has not changed since it was organized in the 1960s: to appropriately recognize the Veterans of Indiana so that their deeds and sacrifices will not be forgotten,” the council writes on its website.
No parking along the parade route will be allowed.
